OUGD505 - Studio Brief 2 - T-Shirt Development

Designing T-shirts to create a community in which supports the subject of 'Worker Abuse' within the garment industry. I planned to visit Primark to grab some plain T-shirts, bearing in mind Primark are a target to my campaign.  So by using their T-shirts against them to support the people that make them will create an awareness of the brands that abuse their staff.

Final Design which reflects the brand's colours and logo, The previous designs were just as effective but when keeping the brands image consistent I went for an orange coloured T-Shirt for it also attracts the eye more than white does.

Keeping the design consistent and simple throughout, Involving the caution visual to provide warning of the industry & to grab the eye. As explained in the research I've gone with Helvetica typeface as its applied to the American Apparel Sweatshop-Free. A well-known brand that isn't involved within the corrupt garment sector.

Using Sympathetic quotes as they tend to get people thinking & interested in the cause.

After researching into the Bangladesh's Factory collapse where 1,100 people died making clothing for brands such as JOE FRESH. I developed a typographic T-shirts which expose the brands identity, the aim hopefully would decrease sales for 'JOE FRESH' and to create awareness.

Using the brand's colours in order to insult their image.

The quotation is to speak for all the loses

Evaluation

Although this could've been an effective reach out to awareness and forming a community that would've wanted to be a part of the campaign. Time wasn't on my hands as well as the funds. I will, however, want to include some form of T-shirt Print in 3rd year to give me an idea of applying it to my clothing brand.
