OUGD505 - Studio Brief 1 - Licence to Print Money - Research

After Looking at Behance for various designs this particular note caught my eye. Being highly interested in the geometric shapes and how everything is visible  within the bank note. Although there is a lot going on in the design.Taking inspiration through the layout and shape throughout this note has enabled me to understand what would be appropriate to involve within my banknote. To incorperate a geometric style would develop an interesting resolution, especially when applying it to a theme.

The only problem with this design is that it has been done digitally so to pick up the different tones within the design would almost be impossible done by analogue print

For his master’s thesis at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland,
American designer Travis Purrington gave US currency a top-to-bottom,
front-to-back overhaul

Instead of presidents, Purrington's bills are based on systems.

The black-and-white drawing of a bucky ball, here, is the building
block of the skyscraper, found on the other side of the $10

Blood cells that make up our circulatory system are on one side
of the $20. A body of water, which also keeps us alive, is drawn
on the other side.
