OUGD505 - Studio Brief 2 - A2 Screen Print Posters

Setting up the A2 Positives was more fuss than expected, the reason being was because of the overlaying of the white & black. The white ink was slightly opaque and to run it over the black would create a gray tone. The job was slightly tedious as there was only 1 shot at getting it right due to the budget I have for this module.

A2 Printed Positives & Stock

Although the white came out quite translucent the black text was clear enough against it. As you may notice the bottom outline just about fits on the stock. This was slightly concerning when registering the logo over the white shape. Despite the fact, it could've been easily fixed by cropping. Wanting to execute the print first time due to time management.

Looking closely at the print I noticed a few grainy marks, this wasn't planned but considering the poster relates to the industrial industry it worked well in complementing the poster. This was something my peers also mentioned: "It gives a factory feel to it". Little marks such as this have a tendency to irritate me but overall it brought a nice feature to the poster.

Yet again a print error, this one has irritated me as it is a finger smudge, If having more time I would have considered reprinting on different textured stock & to insert some of my own grain effects.

Using the registration to align the print up, this was something I had to spend delicate time with in order to print it correctly first time.
