OUGD503 - Studio Brief 1 - Penguin - Brief & Considerations

The Penguin brief is simply asking for a engaging front cover which would capture the eyes of a child but also adults. Because It is a children's book you have to make sure its child friendly. The colours psychology used will be an important aspect to the cover making sure the colours attract in the right way. For example,

MacDonald's use positive psychology qualities of red & yellow in relation to the fast food industry, red triggers stimulation, appetite, hunger, it attracts attention. Yellow triggers the feelings of happiness and friendliness.

The target Audience for this book is 7-11 year olds so making sure its to a childish manner that makes it playful through the use of visuals, colour and type style.
