OUGD503 - Studio Brief 1 - Penguin - Secondary Research

By going to a library it allowed me to have an idea of what works & what colours are matched to specific books, Mystery, crime, romance etc..

Although I looked mostly into adults books when visited I thought it was still appropriate as I was able to look into layout, hierarchy, colour and typography which suits the style of the book

This book stood out to me through its bright red, It coming off quite serious like it would be a tense read.It communicating well to the title of the book. This is done by the lonely figure with a suitcase. My interpretation of the bird illustration is that it is a clairvoyance to the missing person. The torn page possibly being a letter of leave. Overall I think this book has done a good job of explaining the story through its front cover
The back of the blurb connects back my interpretation of it being a note. Getting an idea of where to place logos and the text.
