OUGD503 Studio Brief 1 - Secret 7 - Research

From gathering research from exisiting designs on 'Imagine' I noticed a lot of the designs were highly colourful, the song Imagine had given off an effective view on its meaning of peace. Bright colours being a distintice aspect within the song. So to consider using inviting colours such as the ones in this design would defintely benefit the aim of the song.

This design came to my attention by its distinct shape and calming colour as it holds a focal point within the design. The idea of cropping photography to shape creates a quirky visual overall that instantly makes it interesting in its form. The white background gives a more structured design that compliments the typography as well as making it legible. The simplicity in shape an layout is an idea that can be taken forward

The use of media offers a traditional print effect that gives the vinyl cover a biological visual. Its abstract effect has given me insight in approaching screen printing especially if applying it to John Lennon 'Imagine' as I feel it would put age into the vinyl.

After looking into the lyrics of 'Imagine' the words 'dreamer' appealed to me for John Lennon dreamed of world peace. So to incorporate a dream catcher along side various other visuals, such as CND logo and the world layout would convey a message of dreaming of world peace. A simple illustration of the 3 could create a strong concept.

Looking into colour which best communicated peace I came towards this image which gave  off a calming emotion, its pale colours are relaxing for the eye in the sense of not standing out as much. These spercific tones could complement future development.
