OUGD603 - Brief 01 - Khong Branding - Logotype Development

Taking the first design concept forward, using a thai Symbol in replacement of the 'N', a subtle manipulation which allows a simplistic English/Thai connection.

Taking the Symbol an adjusting it to fit the typeface provided for the logotype, also using musical representation such as the 'vinyl' as the symbol looks like a turntable 'Pin'.

Getting my peers criticism on the first development,

  • Too much focus in the centre of the logotype
  • Isn't Bold Enough
  • Keep it simple with the 'Symbol' only

After using capitals I realised the typeface didn't look Thai enough, needed something sharp to convey the 'sharp Thai masks & Architecture'

Finding a more suitable typeface which holds sharp/bold thai characteristics. Khong's style is known to be groovy so a tribe like typeface may be more ideal.

Making further adjustments to the Thai Symbol to fit the thickness & style of the typeface, also adding an extension onto the Symbol to make it clearer of the two merged text/language
