OUGD603 - Brief 03 - Alete Couture - Evaluation

This branding project was my first time working within fashion, so this was a great chance for me explore new things and find out about the essentials within launching a clothing brand. Time management was a big issues for this brief. Not only because I was having to balance it out with others, but also with outsourcing materials such as the t-shirts and hoodies, as well as booking slots and taking into consideration of the different colours to be printed. I think with having being hands on I have learned that the screen printing process is a trail and error. You can never predict the outcome to be exact. With my new found interest and close eye for typefaces, it was creating a logo strictly using words and not symbols. Creating the logo also taught me to work out better spacing between letters, which obviously helps a lot with logotypes. One of the most rewarding outcomes was seeing the final logo placed onto the t-shirt and hoodie. Obviously a lot of time went into to mocking up, trying to grasp an understanding / vision of it before it’s physically in my hand, but nothing compared to the reality. That feeling has also further reinforced that I want to continue within the creative industry.
