OUGD405 Studio Brief 1 Design Process - Backing paper Research

Geometric shapes 

Having to design our backing paper around shapes seemed rather simple and boring, as solid shapes came to mind at first, then from previously looking at geometric shapes I thought there would be a much more appealing approach towards the final outcome from looking at these kind of shape designs. Although these are still simple looking they are far more advanced in the sense of the positioning and the unique individuality of each image. I'm very fond of the composition, colours and meaning behind designs like this.

for example The point-up triangle can represent male energy, fire and air are masculine elements. The point-down triangle can represent female energy, water and earth are feminine elements.

Thinking of target audience and choice of retail I like the idea of tattoo salons and those that get tattoos themselves specially these particular designs.
