OUGD603 - Brief 04 - Euphøria Event Planner - Evaluation

THIS WAS BY FAR THE MOST EXCITING BRIEF OF THE YEAR. This was a LARGE brief. Prior to planning this brief, I did not know exactly where to start and feel certain that I surprised myself throughout. Euphoria has turned out to be more than just a uni project. It is something I wish to pursue further after submission. Having started this brief, I noticed how much I neglected everything else but that soon changed when I created a time plan. Being the second brief of the year and knowing how much I had to consider, it was crucial to set targets and standards for the rest of my work in the final year. Creating a live event and collaborating with a photographer and videographer resulted to a huge amount of work and took a lot of my time. With this brief relating to my interests in techno and house music, it became an obsession extremely easily. What I liked about it the most was that everyday, I had experienced something new. Nothing was repetitive. I was always learning and my brain felt fuelled. This project taught me how design can merge into other industries, and it re-sparked the love I had lost within graphic design. And although it was rewarding in more ways than one, I also learned that it is essential to manage time when it comes to working with others. It can be easy to be caught up in your own work and forget that others have deadlines to meet too. I feel like I could have been stricter as working hard on one project can overlap another.
