Concept

The idea behind Secret Sessions is to create an online application/event for an audience that is into House / Techno music genre

Once registering to the application you'll become apart of a community where you can be randomly selected to attend a house party. 

Because its a secret the idea is to get a text message of the address a few hours before the event starts. Being unaware of the anything involved such as DJ's / Themes and more.

Background

To create an event through a promotional video and design an application targeting males and females within the early and mid-20s who love house and techno music. The aim is to attract new customers by showcasing a support to local up and coming DJ’s. The application informs users of the event and invites them to the night, leaving the music line up a mystery. The event overall explores hidden musical treasures.

Concept 

Influenced by Euphoria’s established brand identity, extend their strong visual image throughout the design and introduce the target audience to local Dj’s. The concept is derived from Euphoria’s vibrant aesthetic, focussing on

embodying the traits of both music talents and local Dj’s through house parties exposure.

This self initiated brief allowed me to experience graphic design in a completely different shape and form, literally. Linking geometric structures to life itself. There was no limitations, and every right for me to be open to different interpretations. This made the project exciting form the research through to the outcome. I have always had a keen interest in symbols and geometric forms. I learned that structures like the ones I created can mean one thing to one person and something completely different to another. They spark conversations and it was interesting to see my own creative outcomes, my own self expressions, result to different thoughts and perspectives. My interest in working with symbols initially began working with lines. I have designed plenty of zines before as a part of publication projects, where there would be unexplainable shapes and lines on the page, but little did I know that I could actually express and transform them to form shapes that symbolise nature, balance, music and much more. The weakness in this brief is that I felt I could have developed more physical outcomes and actually began selling these as stickers for laptop covers, but that’s definitely something to consider for the future. I would like to spend more time creating more outcomes to ensure that I have experimented with all my potential.

Taking inspiration from this by creating an Instagram blog for my own designs. Creating a symbol everyday & giving each design a meaning.

These designs of mine will be self expressive so I'll be capturing my own state/mood during development.

Rectangle Representation.

Squares and rectangles are stable. They're familiar and trusted shapes and suggest honesty. They have right angles and represent order, mathematics, rationality, and formality. They are seen as earthbound. Rectangles are the most common geometric shape encountered

Squares Representation

It can represent the cosmic elements of the sun, moon, stars, and planets. It can symbolize the four main elements-air, earth, fire, and water. The square is a stable symbol. It is a symbol that people will see as familiar.

Circle Representation.

Circle. The circle is a universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notions of totality, wholeness, original perfection, the Self, the infinite, eternity, timelessness, all cyclic movement, God ('God is a circle whose centre is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere


Looking into a variety of symbols has allowed me to gain knowledge of what each shape means, by taking its meaning and adjusting it / Merging it with something in which I've designed to capture my own self expression thought

It Is a monochromatic self expressive interest of mine that lets my mind run free, in constructing shape without thought. The concept is linking geometric shape to life itself but to be open to interpretation.

I've always had a keen interest in symbol & geometric form as I find it interesting that they can mean something more than what it is. 

To create my own self expressive concept through form/shape in which I have designed and sharing it with others would be a interesting outcome.
