This brief has been rather challenging for it has tested my time management skills and my
understanding of guidelines. Although it has been difficult it has given me a
realistic awareness of how the creative industry will be, especially with deadlines. I had great
difficulty when selecting competitions as I felt I did not have the required
skill to be able to execute them. After making complete sense of the brief I
noticed my initiative took control and brought me to some interesting routes.
When approaching the collaborative brief I noticed I had to adjust my
acceptance towards possible concept directions. This proved difficult, for my
particular style would be completely diverse from others. Most of all I have realized
that you need to communicate as much as possible when exploring various design
decisions, especially if you want an effective outcome. The experience with my
team has given me insight in understanding that their needs to be different job
roles assigned to each individual so workload can be evenly divided. Stress
became an issue during the collaborative brief as I felt I took on more than
enough jobs, which had definitely set me back on my individual briefs.
As a whole the module has definitely
broadened my accepting of what to expect when approaching clients. Having a
balance between the kinds of design I would like to design to appreciating how
you’re asked to design. From identifying areas of my process I have come to
terms of the strengths & weakness during my journeys to the briefs.
